Terra Vecchia – Il Sogno Rimasto

Documentary, 80 min, in development

Two ruined villages in the Centovalli, bought for barely 5000 francs, and hundreds of people who made something of them: dropouts, craftswomen, locals, people living at the margins of society. What began in the late 1960s with the idea of a young social worker named Jürg Zbinden became the work of many hands. The film tells of this large social dream and its long echo. And it asks what becomes of a dream once its original purpose has disappeared: where people once cleared land and built, today they meditate.
